Forgotten Cthulhu Idol

$75.00

"The Forgotten Cthulhu Idol was discovered in the dirt floor cellar of a decaying house in Arkham, Massachusetts, unearthed from behind a crumbling fieldstone wall during repairs after a spring flood. No record of the object appeared in the deed, the town ledgers, or the private papers left behind by the home’s previous owners, though the workers who found it swore the narrow hollow in which it rested had been deliberately sealed long ago. Carved in a grotesque likeness of the Great Old One and stained with strange mineral colors untouched by time, the idol seemed less hidden than entombed, as though someone in a former age had feared what might happen should it remain among the living. Since its removal, the house has stood empty, for those who linger there after nightfall speak of whispers rising from the cellar steps and dreams filled with cyclopean towers sinking beneath a black and starless sea."

An effigy of the green, sticky spawn of the stars himself! A variation of the classic Cthulhu Idol, this version depicts the high priest of the Old Ones squatting evilly on a glyph covered polyhedron. Gazing too long will inspire madness!

Includes catalogue letter from Miskatonic University

Cast in black resin and hand painted with a two tone acrylic green finish and dark purple wash. (Idol stands 6")
